Cancellation Charges for W/L
There should not be any Cancellation charges for Waiting List tickets, as they have to make alternate arrangements for the travel. Whereas for the confirmed ticket high cancellation charges are acceptable. Railway ministry has to seriously think about this modification to implement soon. more

Are there any cancellation charges at all for waitlisted tickets. If bought online then transaction charges are taken.. it’s not wrong, it saves us from the hassle of going to the counter physically more

Every operation or activity needs expense....Railway is not doing any charity....And if the tickets are not confirmed, I don't think any additional deduction is done apart from operational expenses....!!! more

It is correct. Why they should charge when they can not give confirm ticket. It is like looting public money . Roy's should think and switch to old procedure. They are not able to get money in other possible ways but minting on poor public. more

I too didn't get the full refund of my wait listing ticket. This is not right at all. How does govt. justify this. Even a private player doesn't do this. Just making money out of no where. Not putting in enough trains /infra structure and charging money. more
