Cancellation charges

I booked 6 tickets and these were wait-listed. Not confirmed at chart preparation time. But still I lost Rs120 x 6= 720, for nothing. The railways shd not profit on the helplessness of the passengers. I demand this money back. I request readers to support me and respond accordingly.

Since, the tickets were not confirmed there is no reason to deduct such an exorbitant amount. How can rules be so blatantly one-sided?

While railways are making efforts in last2years for passenger amenities, there is also side by side actions to grab money by hook or crook in the name of tightening various rules. The changes made in ticketing rules go beyond reasonable hikes and natural justice or justifications. It is better to go for upfront hike infares rather than devious methods of depriving people of their monies. All changes made in past year needto be reviewed and scaled down. Mr. Suresh Prabhu has to take a call on this more
This is a white collar cheating. If you cheat action will be taken against you. If the govt cheats it is law more
Right you are. Why when service charges have been taken by railway at the time of reservation why again at the time of cancellation. Double tax. Over and above (1) railway uses our money for the period till the passenger travels (2) we provide service to railway by doing online reservation for which we should be paid by Railways. Imagine if so many people had to go to their counters for booking, how many railway personnel they had to appoint. According to me a deep analysis need to be done and file a consumer right PIL in this regard. more
