cancer called corruption
It is a well known fact that unaccounted money and transactions is the root cause of corruption starting from parking lot attendants,they(small boys) will try not to hand over the parking receipt if you don't insist. Corruption appears to be in out genes. All govt personnel , starting from peons expect gratification at every stage, again paid in cash. Each and every one knows this state of affairs but behave or forced to behave as if nothing is wrong. Because of this gratification process, the law makers and implementation agencies(govt) make complicated rules so that most of us end up on the wrong side and the gratification process continues.
The rules are made in such fashion that we need consultants for everything , even to fill up a form. It is clear that the Government makes rules to create employment or jobs. We are not No.1 economy in this world because of this kind of approach. Merit has no value, it is raining reservations in education and jobs and in law enforcement agencies. People asking for reservations are simply selfish, we are in 2000's not in 1940's when there was slavery. Systems created by already corrupt system will always ensure that corruption carry on.
Corruption has become a habit and habits die hard. If we continue like this the habit will never die.
Are we interested in stopping corruption? It appears that no one is sure, because every new rule made again leads to fresh corruption. The political establishments are actually in business, so they will ensure that their business is not affected. The people are really being taken for a ride by this business group. This group has created checks and balances in such a manner that the people remain their slaves. we were slaves of the British then and now we are slaves of our Government and politicians. Few good men in politics can't do much, the system will ensure their failure , they will not be tolerated by the corrupt system. We have a picture of a neta in the pre independence times, and we tend to believe that they will always like that.
The people should come out in favour of out of the book reforms.
The govt requires Tax , this could be collected by way of transaction tax. All currency notes above Rs.20/- to go out, all transactions only by way of plastic cards , internet banking , or any other form of digital system only, hundreds are available today. For every transaction , a tax will be debited automatically by the system at the time of the transaction itself ( like TDS).The govt gets its revenue. The govt does not spend on monitoring business and tax collection expenses , AND out goes all discretion of the person on the spot,complicated rules/laws , no intrusion , no chance of corruption, millions of court cases will not appear, only benefits for every one. The recording and submission of accounts/income for individuals/groups/firms and organisations to be submitted to the Govt , for the purpose of ensuring there are no illegalities with reference to the laws of the land. Everything records/financial statement remains as it is, except there is no hard cash to corrupt.This goes well with the slogan from PM, LESS GOVERNMENT .
ALL administrative and accounting persons need not worry about loosing jobs. OR still better, the persons employed in the collection and accounting could be free to come to business , more entrepreneurs and the country will be number one in the world. Presently , the entrepreneur is doing less business and more of complying with the wonderful laws created by persons never affected by the laws.
One half is doing all the hard work and the other half is simply sitting over the first half and creating trouble, harrasment, and earning and surviving. more

Allow corruption to flourish. Increase cash transaction limit without PAN from 50,000 to 2 Lakhs, illicit liquor business throughout India, provide political shelter to criminals, free flow of money in elections, give free hand to Govt. officials for receiving bribe, provide immunity to politicians and judiciary from corruption....... more

Mr Sajjan Paul has proposed a solution to overcome corruption viz digital transactions only. While all of us on such forums will manage, there is a vast population in rural area that will take ages to be able to digitize all their transactions more

Though corruption is openly objected but when it comes to individual cases it is favored and is used as a major way to get a work done in mostly Government and quasi Government offices. The rules are cumbersome and are difficult to follow. It may be made simple to make things easier. The payments may be digitized so as to avoid cash transaction and cash payment to get a job done. Why not make payment for transaction to be at a centralised place with separate account heads and submit it along with application to get a work done. on application the requirement must be scrutinised and also attested for the completion of the procedure to issue necessary or requested permission or certificate or approval. In case of discrepencies the applicant must be informed or the office itself must rectify the defect on a nominal payment. If additional formalities are required from sister or different departments then the applicant must be allowed to hand carry and approach the concerned authorities to complete the formalities. No additional fee need to be charged once it is paid at central treasury which is common for all Government payments and transactions. The officers and staff are to be just tool to complete the process within stipulated time and the work progress must be available on web for applicant to know. Delays are to be reported to a monitoring agency who may take severe action to complete it. more

Greed for (materialistic properties, fame, etc.) is the route cause of 'corruption'... One need to understand that positions/ properties/ resources are limited and (perverted) demand is much much more... We pray for achieving it, act for achieving it, downsize/harm others for achieving it.... Corruption is one part/ method of this processes... A detailed analysis shows me that the generation here after about 50 years (I am now 56 years old, my bachelor son 26 years) perhaps the generation of my grand-children may not be much interested to 'achieve' through illegitimate methods... resulting in substantial reduction/ elimination of corruption..... more
