I beg to differ with the views expressed by Mr. Kunwar Singh. No where it is mentioned that Cancer is caused by pH 5 or 6 of Tea/Coffee. True acidity may be caused but that is not the only source of spreading Cancer. It also depends on the Quantity of Tea/Coffee consumed. If someone is taking Tea/Coffee in the Morning & Evening only be it at 65 deg. C, I do not think that it is the only reason for causing Cancer. I have seen umpteen np. of cases, where persons do not even drink Tea/Coffee but still have Cancer. In many Newspapers, Magazines we read the benefits of Tea/Coffee & what about the cases where people take black Tea/Coffee & do not put sugar in it? Are they also prone to Cancer by taking black Tea/Coffee? As the Science has progressed & have innumerable discoveries & so is the outgrowth of so many diseases. The single source of these diseases is still not found out. Be within the limits of taking/eating any & everything, nothing will go wrong but if it has to go wrong then without eating/drinking also it can happen. more
All About Tea, Coffee and Sugar Dear friends, Drinking tea and coffee in any temperature is an unhealthy choice, because the process of making them with the help of chemicals makes them contaminated. Caffeine in tea and coffee promotes calcium excretion from the body through urine, and makes the bones to cause osteopenia and osteoporosis. Secondly, the tea and coffee becomes more toxic when added with loads of sugar that creates acidic effect in the stomach immediately after its consumption. Sugar is considered as white poison and its consumption is one of the major reasons for causing critical health issues. Except for its white colour and extra sweetness, sugar doesn't contain vitamins and minerals to help the body. The pH value of tea and coffee is 6 and 5 respectively. Both increase aciditic effect in the body, and acidity causes lot of major diseases like cancer, heartburn, gastric disorders, GERD, and ulcers etc. If you can not avoid drinking tea and coffee, I would suggest you to drink a glass of water before drinking either of them to minimise the damage, and your stomach will certainly thank you for sure. I read it too. It's not just coffee but any drink which is at high temperature is harmful and can lead to trigger cancerous cells. But is this based with scientific reason and analysis? have my own doubts. more
I think the logic is that any food if taken at very high temperature and regularly will tend to damage the gullet, food pipe , stomach etc. Hence, the only precaution one may take is to take moderately warm tea, coffee and other food items etc. and there must be adequate gap in time before something cool / cold is taken like ice cream etc. But making a general statement that tea or coffee taken at temperatures above 65 deg. C causes cancer must be taken with a pinch of salt! more
If Tea/Coffee is under hot category then it has to be consumed hot. If 65 is the tolerable temperature then I do not find any facts in the news that at 65 degrees it causes cancer. Everyday we hear, read & see that one or the other reason is given for the Cancer. If it is truth then we will not be able to eat/drink anything for the fear of cancer. No Scientist like me will accept this theory for the simple reason that in Homoeopathy, Unani Medicine, Allopathy & home made remedies suggest to take warm/hot water to that temperature only for curing so many diseases then just by mixing Tea leaves, milk & sugar in hot water how can cancer be caused. Better leave this topic here only & don't debate on this. more
