Dear Brothers i appreciate one and all for citing your experiences with cancer patients, and i have been reading all your posting which i feel is very helpful and informative, and i have to say that one of my family member have been detected, spine cancer after going through lots of scanning in various hospitals, and diagnostic centers, being the younger member of our family i had to assist, and had to consult top oncologist and as per the advise of one of our regular doctors, we settled for the best doctor in this field, since i was consulting various oncologists, and during this course, i felt and am more or less sure, that more than racking human brains behind the patients treatment, the machines are treating specially in cancer detected patient's, every patient has to go through the same radiation, or Chemo, with very little medication, i don't really know whether, what i said should have been said or not in first place and i would like my fellow members to give their feed back. i do want to share one important element during the course of consultation with regards to doctors, and circle member's can build their own opinion on what i want to share..... as i was consulting a Orthopedic surgeon, prior to detection, as we thought it was just a regular pain, and this doctors after looking at the patients X-ray advised us to go for a biopsy, as he expected a major infection, hence we asked him how much would that biopsy cost he said between 14 to 16 thousand, and we rightly agreed, and told him that the patient has medical insurance and asked will that be covered his said yes and my admin will take care about it, one needs to just submit required docs, the same hospital instead submitting a claim for 14k to 16k made a claim for 28975.00 and took a deposit of Rs.5000/- by cash from us, and assured that it would be refunded once the insurance amount is approved, and to our surprise they refunded only Rs.500/- and that was not biopsy but FNAC, I only came to know when i consulted the oncologist i wanted to put forth this experience, and bring to the notice of my fellow members who are taking care of such patients, that the doctors have lost human touch ............
