Car caught fire while driving, was a life threatening experience .
The details of my car and the mishap are as under:
I bought the car on July 3, 2017 and within 6 weeks, there was problem with the fog lights. There was burning smell every time they were turned on. I had to take the car back to the workshop on August 21, 2017. It was found to my shock that the connectors had melted and wiring had burned. The lights and connectors were changed.
The lights again stopped working in October 2017. Again the workshop people visited my residence and changed the bulbs of the lights. They said, it was just a loose connection, nothing serious.
On November 23, 2018, the 3rd instance these lights malfunctioned and resulted in fire. This not only put our lives in danger but could have been fatal to people around on the road and to property nearby.
Now HMIL and the dealer (Shreem Hyundai) is asking me to take delivery of the repaired car from their workshop. I cannot risk our lives in this car again and have therefore refused to take the car back. I have requested for full refund OR new car. There is no response from dealer or HMIL to my request even after 25 days of the mishap.
Kindly guide me as to what steps, I should take and how to go about it. more
