Car Servicing has become super expensive
Car repairs and servicing has become super expensive after GST. 18% GST on labour and 28% GST on car parts. No input tax credit transfer back to the consumer. They havent lowered MRP either and we all know how published mrp is way above their cost price.
Can the anti-profiteering authorities please advise if and how we as consumer are eligible for any ITC back from dealer. Recently we went to toyota dealership and my husband literally asked them 3 times for discount they didnt give any discount.
If in fact consumer is eligible for ITC, authority must book all the car servicing companies. more

The GST has really been burden on the public. Let be examined and corrective steps taken. more

Every act of "profit-making" is NOT "profiteering". According to section 171 of CGST act which defines the "profiteering", clearly states that whenever there is a reduction in GST rates of any goods or services, the supplier of such goods or services does not pass on the resultant reduction in price or ITC then, the act is called "profiteering". In this case, the GST rates on "car-servicing" has never been reduced. It has been put on higher slab since the day of imposition of GST. Thus, it does not fall under profiteering. The said service has become expensive due to higher rate of duty. more
