I will restrict my comments to an individual carbon foot print other than vehicle use 1. Use efficient stoves for LPG or fire wood. 2. Many procedures that will help reduce cooking time (* points) 3. Use energy efficient cooking vessels 4. Plant trees, Grow a kitchen garden. 5. Conserve every resource & follow the principle of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle 6. Dont overcharge Mobile phones & use Solar panels for charging 7. Switch off all gadjets especially those with remote at the plug point and not from remote. 8. Ensure full load wash cycle. 9. Buy/use Star rated appliances to consume less power. Higher the stars higher the saving. Lower operational costs and longer life for electronic appliances. 10. Use both sides of paper or avoid as much as possible. 11. Conserve every drop of water, mostly dependent on our actions. Harvest every drop of rain water as it is the only source of fresh water. 12. Ensure ACs are set at 24/25 deg C Optimum. Always use fans when you start ACs to increase/spread cooling uniformly. 13. Use LED Bulbs they are cheaper in long run & long lasting. Many more Points but will restrict. P.N.Rao - Past Chairman Energy Conservation Mission; Institution of Engineers (India), Hyderabad. e-mail: seeds24@gmail.com more

I totally support the idea of Shri Darshan Singh. In addition I would like to guggest to the Central and State Governments to reduce the carbon footprints. For every VIP many cars go in a convoy where in fact one vehicle would do. This will control pollution. Dipak Himatsingka more

Dear Mr Darshan, another safe mode transport for reduction of carbon footprint and keeping yourself fit and healthy is using bicycle to the extent one can. A lot of work is being carried out in Dwarka on bicycle sharing by Centre for Green Mobility (NGO) in association with DDA (hope you are aware). Promote bicycle amongst Dwarka residents through your good work. more
