this is regarding the post by Mr. Bhatia on Uber taxi. It has happened to me twice. When i booked it showed twenty minutes I waited half an hour. and called the taxi driver. He said that he was fifteen minutes away from my place and put down the receiver. Then i suddenly got a message that some other driver has been assigned. I spoke to him. He said that it will take time for him to come to my place and he said that i better cancel the booking. I told him to do it himself. he said okay. Then i got a message that another driver will come to pick. I spoke to him also. He said that he with a customer searching for the place(!) and it will take another fifteen minutes for him to come. Iwas disgusted and told him to cancle the booking himself. He said okay. I then took an Ola without problem. But got a message from Uber that since i cancelled the booking i have to pay Rs. 40 something as cancellation charges. From that time on wards i stopped using Uber if i can avoid it. more
Uber will refund Rs 40 once you write to them pointing out their failure to provide the ride. more
