Catering Contractors in Train Pantry Cars

I have one more incident to report here. I wqas travelling by 2A from Chennai to Mumbai on 6th Jan.2017 by Train 11042. I had ordered for 1 Omlette for Breakfast and 1 Lunch for which the Contractor charged me Rs.170/'I asked for Bill. Received the Bill No.8671 dated 6.1.17 for Rs.170/- (Rs.120 for Lunch & Rs.50 for Breakfast) from M/s. Sunshine Caterers Pvt.Ltd - Lecencees Pantry Car/11041/11042/11027/ 11028 Mumbai-Chennai-Mumbai. As there is a clear evidence of overcharging the train passengers, I wish to lodge my complaint through this forum to the concerned authorities for necessary action and feedback to me. more  

There is evidence of Bill no good .A photo evidence would have attracted the attention of the authorities and the circle members as well.Despite the latest [March 2018 ] food prices in the web WHY ARE THE IRCTC CATERERS ALLOWED TO CHARGE MORE . ISN'T THERE A MECHANISM IN THE BIG ORGANIZATION TO CHECK ON THIS . IF NOT ALLOW IN EACH TRAIN A PHONE NUMBER TO CLARIFY . OTHERWISE IT WILL BE CONSTRUED AS COLLUSION. Why allow so many complaints on the subject yet without action ? Either solve the problem or openly say that that is how things will go on . more  
Recently traveled by 12890 in August. The train has been provided with a PC not too long back. The staff were reluctant to present the rate chart. Overcharging in all items. When asked, the common answer was that they too tried to convince the manager to reduce rates but he wont budge, thus blaming manager. When asked about the PC manager full name, there too the staff showed ignorance, and tried to hide the information. One telling one name, other telling unable to recollect and so on. Tea for ex was charged Rs 10 instead of 7, Rs 3 in pocket. Coffee was not available. Veg meal was priced above 100, and non-veg above 130. Few of them had admitted (towards the end of journey) that they too needed money and pleaded mercy. None of the staff except "Irfan Khan" had put the badge on, giving all weird reasons like badge fell off, shirt got tore off etc when asked about the same. Since I had queried multiple staff throughout journey, the answers were not at all in sync, (many times also blaming others unknowingly) thus showing a good pre-planned process of making extra money. Post MOU, in down direction, PC staff were not seen. I wish to see action on this. Maybe some app can be there, where people can just insert comment on the go, and a check happen in subsequent station by men in plain clothes(in case of more than say 50 comments). more
