Feedback on Catering

1. The food booking app is quite user friendly
2. Few Outsourced outlets at major railway stations are comparative better in quality but very high price
3. The quality of snacks served has improved but not the quality of the meals
4. On IRCTC food booking for most stations, only Domino’s pizza is available
5. The minimum order value mentioned is Rs. 60 but the range of Domino’s pizza starts at Rs. 100 and above
6. Pre-ordered food does not reach the passenger many times
7. The food quality in trains is not too good and almost same as a few months ago
8. Food is not worth the money charged
9. Water bottles are still served with broken seals
10. The trays in which the food is served are still dirty
11. The hygiene inside train and pantry needs more improvement
12. The food cost included in few trains like Shatabdi, Rajdhani, Suvidha etc. can be made optional at the time of booking
13. Catering should also ensures healthy, non-oily and limited spice food which has a good balance. more

I think union minister to intervene for the contracting philosophy for quality and pricing of food for passengers. This was the most important area for service to passengers and equally most neglected area. more
day before yesterday i boarded the Visakhapatnam Nanded express (18509). I received a phone call asking for feedback on the facilities. There was mention about the bedding and AC, but not the feedback about food being served. The food served (By Rails on Wheels caterers) was below quality and was being charged at a premium. butter milk (read plain water with little bit seasoning):Rs. 30/-!!! breakfast (three small idly and one vada):Rs. 40/-!!! I would not have been disappointed about the rates if the quality was good. But it was worse than the vendors that sell on railway platforms. Can any one tell me where can i complain about this? more
SHOULD EVERY ONE WHO HAD SMART PHONE SHOULD HAVE NET BALANCE OR HOW TO BOOK FOOD IN IRCTC. more
Please provide tissues and a paper cover to dispose off the waste and wrapper. Railways to actively campaign for users to dispose off the trash by themselves not to look for others. more
Passenger safety should be at the top. Hygiene within compartments particularly toilets need to be improved. It would be great if some mechanism is evolved to ensure punctuality of trains. Food quality must also be improved. more
