CBSE Notification post LocalCircles poll

We are pleased to share with you that after LocalCircles polls on school fee transparency, CBSE has taken a significant step last week requiring schools following CBSE for significant disclosures.

Attached are some of the LocalCircles polls in which you participated and the notification issued by CBSE.

CBSE has asked for mandatory disclosures under six categories: general, management, infrastructure, staff, finance and other details. This covers an unprecedented wide range of information — from the number of taps to fee break-up, WiFi speed, admission results, reserve funds and balance sheets. The deadline for the disclosure is November 30, 2016.

There are still a few pending items like establishing a regulator for school fee and allowing schools with profit objectives to be set up as companies and we will keep the follow ups on with CBSE Chairman and Dept of School Education, MHRD.

Thanks for participating in these polls. It is good to see citizens demanding and in cases like these Government taking actions. more

Good job. Please include there in who is responsible for the compliances. What authority he/she is having in case of violation? Other wise things will remain in paper and we will be back to square one. Example: Recent fire at SUM hospital in Bhubaneswar where 21 patients died. The fire authority issued official notice and everything possible was done. But the hospital didn't bother and continued its business. We all watched in the news and now forgotten. Out come 21 died not of their fault. Please clarify how CBSE Board is going to over come such elements. Thanks more
Yes, Correction happens such a way only ---- Now a days Schools major objective is to earn money rather than providing education to the Students and those who work on these guidelines are successful too. Great misfortune for India. more
Sir, it would have nice if the CBSE schools are made to accept the income certificates of parents to grant the 25% to admit pupil from People Below Poverty line for the waiver of school fees to such children please Sir. Thank you, Yours sincerely, K.S.Nagarajan Chennai. EMail: nagarajanks27@yahoo.co.in more
That is very encouraging news - I was going through the PDF attached -one key point 1. Point D (staff details) - what would than incorporate or have. I am suggesting here that depending upon the fees a school charges the teachers should accordingly be qualified. There are lot of instances where teachers (ladies with all due respects) pay money and get a education degree and start teaching - They are not even able to counsel students or identify AHD students - if the school is a basic school then the fees should differ from a premium (which needs to be identified - not suggesting IGSE model schools). My concern till today is teachers in most of the schools themselves are not aware of basic aspects We should also have criteria of fees dependent upon one key aspect - teacher to student ratio my apologies if this was missed out earlier in the survey but probably can be referred to later. I am very happy of the developments. Thank you Sir/madam more
