Censorship on this forum
Yesterday I had put up a post asking why railways do not provide berth numbers for 1AC at the time of booking. My contention was this leads to manipulation later as choice berths are given to VIPs and railway officials while paying passengers get pushed to less desirable ones. Within hours it garnered over 6500 views and had 150 comments, most of them supporting my contention. It shows the problem is real and many had experienced it. Each time I have travelled 1AC I have encountered VIP menace in one form or another.
However, I was quite surprised to find that post deleted immediately thereafter. Not just that, even my previous posts have gone missing. I think the truth hit too close to home. If railways do not want to hear inconvenient truths, why have the farce of this forum? more

I agree with Mr.Alok Tiwari,that by not providing Berth No.for 1AC at the time of Booking,there is ample scope left for manipulation.I have experienced this menace 'n' No.of times,because most of my travels are Pre-Planned and my preference is for travelling in 1st AC.However,despite booking well in advance,and,despite being a Senior Citizen,I,seldom get a Lower Berth.The software of CRIS needs to be updated in such a manner that a Senior Citizen and a Female above te age of 50 Years should automatically get Lower Berth,in all the Classes of Travel in Railways. more
