Chain snatching in Indirapuram

1. This is regarding the inconvenience faced by daily commuters from Indirapuram towards Ghazipur crossing on NH 24 .It takes almost half an hour on working days ( and 10 minutes on holidays ) to cover a distance of 5 kms from Indirapuram to Ghazipur crossing mainly because of the constricted traffic at Khoda village road leading to NH 24.
This adds to the harrowing experience of office goers , moving at a snail's pace on account of the increased number of vehicular traffic on not-so-wide NH 24,as they have no other option than to wait patiently for their turn to cross the Khoda crossing .Can a permanent Traffic Police personnel be posted to help the commuters tide over the crisis of road rage on this particular patch so as to ensure smooth traffic flow on NH 24?

2.As you are aware, middle class families who cannot afford the skyrocketing price of Delhi apartments opt for a just-sufficient-for-the-family apartment in adjacent areas. Indirapuram is one such destination that houses lakhs of middle income group salaried persons like me.
Even though it is called National Capital Region being in the vicinity of Delhi,Indirapuram lacks in all civic amenities. I think as a senior citizen it is my responsibility to bring to your kind notice the following problems of Indirapuram residents for a permanent solution so that lakhs of residents here lead a peaceful life like their Delhi counterparts:
• In absence of a public transport facility that is the main channel to carry working population from Indirapuram to adjacent areas like Delhi,New Delhi,NOIDA,Greater Noida,Gurgaon,Faridabad etc. passengers depend on autos to commute from Indirapuram to Sector 62 ,near Fortis Hospital to board a bus (Route No.392) for NOIDA/Delhi or to Vaishali for Metro services. They are subject to physical and mental torture and also at the mercy of the autocratic and ill-behaved auto-drivers who forget the basic aspects of humanity altogether and intend to maximise profit while in transport business. I feel DTC buses should be extended upto Indirapuram to tide over the crisis.

• On the other hand those who can afford private vehicles are also subject to physical and mental stress and strain due to traffic snarls on NH-24 on account of ever-increasing number of vehicles and the resultant congestion from Shipra Mall to UP border. For the last 6 years we have been listening to widening of NH 24 that is in status- quo and unable to take the load of ever-increasing maddening crowd at NH 24.That needs urgent attention to ensure widening of NH 24.

• I strongly feel that a Metro route on NH 24 that has ample space on either side will solve the eternal problems of daily commuters in Indirapuram.Till Metro connectivity to Indirapuram,Metro feeder buses should run on NH 24 (from Akshardham temple to Shipra Mall, Indirapuram area) which has a vast population. Commuting from that stretch to Delhi is hell of a problem for those having no private vehicles because no public transport facilities are available on that route except the overcrowded autos. Innumerable commuters from Ghaziabad will heave a sigh of relief once the metro connectivity is extended to Indirapuram.

• Power failure throughout the day and night is a common feature. In the sultry and humid weather where AC is a basic necessity, you can well understand our agonies when you can’t switch on your AC the whole night because of exorbitant back-up rates for power consumption and in spite of improper rest in the previous night, have to attend office the next day.
I think a consumer-protective step be taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply and/or scheduled power cuts and also to fix minimum charges of back-up so as to avoid exploitation of consumers.

• The under-passes built in front of Shipra Mall,CISF Office and Kala Pathar are regularly jammed due to chaotic movement of traffic from both sides and it takes half an hour to cross a distance of a one-km stretch through these underpasses. Moreover the traffic from HN 24 at Kala Pathar also merges at the opening of the underpass that creates unnecessary hindrance in movement of traffic as a result of which underpasses built to ease traffic become nightmares during office hours.
I think a team of experts be appointed to study the movement of traffic in these stretches and appropriate corrective steps be taken for one-way/smooth flow of traffic from/to Indirapuram to NOIDA.

• Law and order situation in Indirapuram is a matter of concern for all residents.Daylight robbery,chain-snatching,crimes against women and children frequently get unnoticed because of social stigma attached to it.
• I may add here that this morning my husband’s gold chain of 25 gms was snatched by 2 bikers when he was going to get vegetables from a Safal outlet near HRC Residency in Indirapuram. The snatching was so severe that it left a deep scratch in the neck of my husband who was going to fall on the road. The bikers fled away before he could note the number of the bike. We did lodge a complaint with the Police but we know that nothing would happen. We are helpless and can do nothing except cursing the biker for his evil deed and praying to God to punish him who has deprived us from an emotional attachment.
I think police patrolling should be increased in the area and helpline services be initiated to avoid such nuisance. A system should be in place to alert all jewellers in the locality and to nab the thief from CCTV footage who would certainly go to any jewellery shop to exchange the gold chain for money.

3.There is no slip-road from NH 24 to Akshardham or Yamuna Bank Metro stations and those residents of Indirapuram and nearby areas who want to board trains from these stations have either to cross through congested Laxmi Nagar or have to take U-turn after Nizamuddin Bridge;both being time and fuel-consuming affairs. An underground connection from NH 24 towards the main road near Akshardham Temple Metro station would solve their problems. more

what i feel, if the U.P Traffic police deployed dedicated police officers at lal kua to u.p.border and no stopping and no parking allowed , at some stance we can control . or this road may be handover to Delhi Traffic Police, we can control the problem, more
NH24 & 58 widening plan should be accomplished before 10 year. But those who have authority to do that they are sick minded. They have no concern in development. more
