Change in tariff plans by telecom companies in case of life time validity plans
Subsequent to the post on the subject of change in tariff plan of life time validity connections on 29th December 2018, I had initiated the matter with TRAI under RTI Act 2005. The practices of the telecom companies by changing the tariff plans under life time validity plans is unethical and in my view, we can take legal action against the telecom companies. My suggestion to the community members is that a class action could be the better strategy. What other members would like to suggest. In case of a class action suite, the issue need to be consolidated through a sizeable number of complaints. Your views on the subject please. more
It could be better to get back to previous system of life time validity. It was usually extended by the telecom operator after a specific period. There may not be any problem, if the operator levies a minimum charge for it, as it is charged a few rupees after recharging a minimum amount from the balace amount in account. more
@Naganand Nileshwar No sir. Life time is w.r.t the life of the telecom company and it is determined by the validity of the licence under which the company is operating. In case the licence gets extended/renewed, the life also become the validity of the extended/renewed licence. more
My service provider Airtel's helpline has told me that balance amount from my current yearly package as on 1st Feb will be refunded in my account. I am not sure whether to believe it or not. They also told that if I do not choose any package (suggested by them or bouquets or ala-carte), 100 free channels will be activated for me at the price of 130 + GST per month automatically. I am sharing above for information of all circle members. more
Do you think TRAI is effective ?My experience shows that neither TRAI is taking action nor the operators are giving importance to TRAI ?My request to Vodafone and TRAI was simple that if on 16-01-2019 when VODAFONE STV pack of Rs 458.00 was active on my mobile and I was entitled to send 100 free SMS per day then for 4 SMS charges of Rs 20.00 was why deducted from my main account and secondly i want the mobile numbers to whom those SMS were send so that i may able to know that what is going on in VODAFONE ? I have referred the matter to TRAI also but no action was initiated from VODAFONE/TRAI for the reasons best known to them EXEPT response of VODAFONE that " SMS charges were genuine " that too without reasoning ? more
