Change the election system for corruption-free India
Our present election system breeds corruption as it is important for individual candidates to win, even if he/she wins by the margin of one vote, he/she is the winner and enjoys the power, while defeated candidate, even if he/she has lost just by one vote, will have no say in administration at all. Hence we need to have the representative voting system where all parties get seats depending upon the percentage of votes they have polled. more

I totally agree that Election Expenses & greed is the root cause for this one. We have bring constitutional amendment to incurr election expenses from Govt side. Certain clear guidelines & prescribed qualification must be there for candidates. Anti corruption unit should be strengthened and given more powers and target should be given to them to eliminate corruption in a phased manner. Public groups also monitor and they have analyse the progress on monthly/quarterly basis. more

The very process of peoples representation is beset with dishonesty and loot. The only way any corrupt official/ public servant (even elected representatives are public servant) can be forced to be honest (otherwise no one is going to be honest after spending a fortune) is to impose death penalty for any offence against public interest (please note no one will dare to die and hence will be extremely discrete in his actions). To the best of my knowledge Sir Oliver Cromwell eliminated all corrupt Knights when British democracy was established. The resource floated is perhaps ill conceived as whichever way one enters portals of power, his greed for wealth doesn't change. Proportional representation may only bring in more equitable distribution of loot vis-a-vis winner takes all. more

IT is not the present election system breeds corruption, but no imposing restriction on donation to the political parties. Let the donations be against receipt and taxable. more

The election commission and the judiciary is responsible for this. Why don't they bring in a law to see to it that none of the tainted people are allowed to contest elections? People on bail should not be allowed to contest elec tions. more
