Changing nature of Covid - Symptoms

Covid variant BA.2 is now in Gujarat and other states of India too and the symptoms are slightly different than BA.1 which started in December. Can everyone in these circles please share what are the symptoms they and family experienced in Dec Jan and what date exactly.

I have reason to believe that BA.2 is more severe in symptoms than BA.1 and everyones feedback will help.

South Africa is now seeing BA.2 rising and deaths are rising there.

Let us share and see if together we are more knowledgeable than us alone. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ more

Now we understand Covid is going to remain in our System and we have to live with it. It will become like common Flu and there will be Medicines available in the market including Nasal Spray etc. more

Manuel Aaron from Chennai: From Dec 25 2021 to Jan 7, 2022, five of our close family members, including myself and my wife had severe sore throats and feverishness, not fever, if you know what I mean. I was the second in my family to get it. I consulted my family doctor on Dec 29. He said it was just Viral Fever. On the 4th January we got a local Lab to check those of us in our building including the domestic help, for Covid. Eight of us were negative. Four of us were Positive for Sars Cov 2. It did not say Corona or Delta or Omicron. Paying Rs 500 we tele-consulted a doctor who told me it was Omicron. Meanwhile we were advised to take Vit C, D, Zinc and Calcium tablets or assorted combinations of them. Or take nothing (!) if you dont have 'co-morbidity' like BP, Asthma, Diabetes, etc. But by then the sore throats were easing. on the 13th Jan 2022, the Greater Chennai Corporation who had home Quarantined the four of us, said that as one week had passed without any problem, the quarantine was lifted! The quarantine had its benefits. The Corporation sanitized our entire building and the individual Flats free of cost. As the domestic help stopped coming we had to do all our domestic chores ourselves and as a result we became healthier with the unusual physical exercise. It must be understood that none of us even for a moment feared we might die of this sore throat! But we were anxious that we did not pass on Omicron to those in our close family who were unaffected and were taking care of us. Co-morbidity? Yes, I am 86 and have BP, but under control. Others in my family have Diabetes, but under control. So, we beat Omicron hands down and enjoyed phoning and writing about it in our family circles. Maybe we are lucky, but we know that people known to us have really died of Omicron. more
This is like influenza and is going to stay in the world. We need to learn to deal with it. This should not shut down all humans in a cage. Lets's open up the country for work and economy and start living with all the smart precautions. more
