Charging at least TATKAL amount for EQ release

Emergency Quota in train should be charged at leat as Tatkal. my recomondation that additional charge shall be 150% of tatkal charges.

The Emergency Quota is availed by many travelers, who are not Railway official. They are getting advantage in getting accommodation but without making any additional payment. They are getting privilage and hence shall be chared for this additional service.

It is certain that these people are more privileged compared even to those who have booked TATKAL. Leaving all other provisions same, a little more than TATKAL charges ( 150%) should be imposed for all EQ tickets.. The people travelling on any privilege/duty pass can continue to travel as per present system.

A system shall be introduced in the Ticket booking system where passenger can pay additional charges for applying for EQ release.
In case the ticket is not confirmed through EQ, entire amount will be refunded. However, in rare cases, if the EQ is not released but still ticket is confirmed through normal WL upgradation, no refund for the additional amount paid shall be made.

The above is logical. This will also deter the travelers, who are sure of getting EQ, from not booking the ticket in advance as they are sure of getting any ticket confirmed. This will allow use of EQ more effectively utilized. This will also deter Railway staff, who manage to sell the EQ, for some consideration through agents/touts. more

I agree with the mentioned additional least charges concerning VIP quota. On 11 Sep 2016 14:11, "Hari Prakash" wrote: > more
EQ is an anachronism after Tatkal has been introduced. EQ for politicians and govt officials, is obnoxious in a democratic set up. A small EQ of 2 to 3 berths only for railway officials in case of emergency duty is understandable. EQ needs to be abolished for others including politicians and other govt officials more
