Charging over MRP by Big Bazaar
Please see how big bazaaar is also charging above MRP. MRP 200, bill says 205.

This should have been pointed out and opposed immediately on receiving the bill instead of making an issue later on. What about the prices of other items mentioned in the same bill? more

There are many issues involved here. The impunity with which these people do such things. The lengthy process for redressal, without any compensation for the efforts involved. The non enforcement of laws to prevent cheating. The ease with which agencies in charge of enforcement are "persuaded" The hurdles in the way of anyone who has the guts to pursue a complaint, on principle, as compensation is non existent. A typical example is the recent unauthorized opening of bank accounts by Airtel, by using the Aadhar number given to them. They got of lightly. In my opinion, punitive action for such deeds should be immediate, timebound, and massively disproportionate to the amount involved, say, like in above case, should be fined RS 1 crore. And sufficient publicity should be given as a deterrent. Whistleblower should be given sufficient incentive. more

At least Ms. Divya Sharma had the guts and the willingness to post the facts along with the proof. If everyone did so, then I am sure at least some of these vendors would go out of business. Depending on the government to implement the laws would take forever. Better that the consumers expose, name and shame them. Once the vendors know that, they will toe the line, and the government will be forced to take note. more

Agree. But we must raise voice against such malpractices, as loud as possible. Unless consumers present a strong constituency that can vote against the political leadership, the things may not change. more

Though the price difference is just Rs. 5 / , it is a difference . Today it will be 5 tomorrow it will be any amount . Divya , in the same column the Dept. of Weights and Measures had sent a post asking such information with proof to be attached and sent . Kindly scroll down till you find the post from the department and attache the same tag and receipt . more

I am sorry, Madam, these days the Big Bazar is quite offensive to complaints against their ways of marketing. I have experienced. If Big Bazaar wants to know, they may contact me at Nr 9910338312. I have reduced my purchasing from them. more

I think big Bazar will refund the amount once complained to Big bazar staff... they generally give credit note.. more

very true..just imagine hundreds of people buying from big bazaar and we dont check each and every item as we buy a lot at a time. God knows how many people they are cheating and how can their software have a different amount than the published MRP. Something wrong, they can very easily refund the amount but its more than that..I agree with Mr Hari Nair.. more
