Chemotherapy through Tablets
My relative who was recently brought to Gurgaon has been advised to start with tablet based chemotherapy. How does that work can someone please share. Is that a milder version? Are the side effects the same? more

As mentioned in the previous comments the Doctor is the best person to answer your query. Treatment of cancer is based on a " treatment plan" based on a lot of factors . Age, disease stage, type of cancer etc etc. go into taking a decision on the treatment plan : therefore take your question to the treating Doctor for best advice. Oral Chemo io given in many cases and it does have certain reactions. though milder ones than the one given through interavenous. Yes, there are tablet based chemotherapeutic drugs too. The line of treatment will be decided by your treating dr depending on the type of cancer and the underlying diseases in the patient. Not all patients are fit to be given very aggressive chemo. Side effects are there, may be mild to moderate depending on how well the patient tolerates the drug. But the drugs are effective, if that's your doubt. more
