CHEQUE BOUNCING

WHEN A CHEQUE BOUNCES, THEN BOTH THE PARTIES ARE PENALISED. THE PENALTY SHOULD BE IMPOSED ONLY ON THE DEFAULTING ACCOUNT. THE BANKS ARE TRYING TO EARN OUT OF NOTHING. more

I wholeheartedly agree with all the writers and see no justification in subjecting the payees to pay penalty for absolutely no fault of theirs. more
there should be no annual ATM charges. May be charged Rs2/- per transaction. more
In that case, you should not pay for depositing or withdrawing your own cash from your own account too or for using the ATM more than a few times. Sadly, those acche din when all these things were free have gone, probably for ever. In future, you may need to pay the bank for opening an account, for visiting the bank, for keeping your hard earned money in bank etc. more
It should be analysed that who is at fault,Payee or payer.Accordingly penalty should be levied. more
why put a cheque in clearance if there is some overwritting etc. it should be returned not bounced. more
Payee should not have to pay any charges. It is the payer who is at fault. If this is not done, it is (as usual) one more ridiculous policy or plain fleecing. RBI should issue necessary orders. All charges (of payee & payer bank) should be charged to the defaulter. more
Let each one of us write to Governor RBI for change in rules . CMD's of Private Banks are increasing charges to draw salary of Rs 8 crores. more
Why penalize the PAYEE, it is the drawer of cheque at fault. But these days Banks find all the Rooms to Charge the Customer. more
There is one point in this case. some times drawer also gets benefitted. For example, if payee has debit balance in his/her account, he gets benefit of 1/2 days' interest benefit, that is why banks charge from both the sides. more
