Children in Govt Schools are molested regularly

Please see attached and let us discuss what should be done. In addition to ensuring that children are made aware about it its important to punish those senior children and educate them about consequences.

And chances are this is happening in private schools too... more

Installation of CCTV cameras in every class/play ground will act as a great deterrent for all rogue teachers/students. The principal/Head Master should monitor the activities randomly to instill fear in the minds of wrong doers. This will also increase the quality of education in every Govt. institution. more
Actually our system does not support in punishment for culprits in any form. This is the most unfortunate part of our society. Countrymen! Reform as early as possible otherwise our system may be irreparable.... I see many times a govt school very close to my apartment, students clean the school and do lots of works for the teachers.... more
It must all start with parents first. They must become aware of the fact that children are vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse. The domestic environment must be enabled in such way in the unfortunate event of any inappropriate behavior or act that the child gets exposed to, they are able to, without hesitation share with their parents and this is possible only if the parents are disposed to their children in a caring, affectionately and above all friendly manner. Children should not be afraid of their parents. Our society must understand that it is not through 'fear' of elders does not mean 'respecting' elders. Child abuse can happen at school or outside of it, even within the four walls of the home. Our culture allows a great deal of mingling of children with extended family members, trusted family friends and unfortunately there are demons hiding in plain sight. Hence the children must know what is inappropriate for them to know when it happens, be it verbal or physical. Children should not be chided by parents when they speak up against someone they know. The tendency of parents to react/respond in a dismissive manner must change. Accepting the possibility of such problems in the society will be the first step to protecting children from the disease of child abuse. At schools, whether private or government, from the primary level itself, there must be curriculum with pictorial representations, including in vernacular explaining children inappropriate behavior. It is also unfortunate that at times activism is used as propaganda against institutions for vested interests in the name of children. The real problem is when such issues are addressed at individual levels. An institution consists of individuals. Reform and reporting must be on perpetrators and their protectors and not squarely on the institution as a whole. Such approach may find better results since the institutions will not be compelled to take a defensive approach when one of their own becomes a perpetrator/protector. more
Parents are basically and teachers are secondary responsible . Parents don't give time to their children and so are the teachers. All are worried for their more and more earning. Just educating seniors or students is only one side of remedy. more
Character education should be given thrust in primary education.Teachers should be taught this. more
