Children under 16 cannot go to coaching centers

The proposed Guidelines for Regulation of Coaching Centre 2024 released by the Centre suggest that students younger than 16-year-olds should not be enrolled in coaching centres. Attached is the new regulation. Glad we in LocalCircles brainstormed some of this and did a survey on. Keep
It up LC Manager.

The guidelines also suggest that coaching centres should not make misleading promises or guarantee ranks to parents and students. Tutors with qualifications less than graduation should not be allowed to teach in coaching institutes either, the guidelines propose. The number of unregulated private coaching centres in the country continues to grow in the absence of any laid down policy or regulation. Instances of such centres charging exorbitant fees from students, undue stress on students resulting in students committing suicides, loss of precious lives due to fire and other accidents, and many other malpractices being adopted by these centres are widely reported in the media. more

After going through the guideline for Coaching Centres the following points need clearification; 1. These are only Guidelines issued by the Centre. The implementation is left to the States. Some states will regulate and some will not. Political consideration will come into play. So it is already politicised. For an All-India entrance test, the students from States with regulations on coaching classes will be at a disadvantage than the students from States with no regulation. 2. Our people will naturally take advantage of the loop-holes in the rules and try to design their atrocities on admission, fees, eye-wash on employing psychologists. So watch-dog agencies and quick actions have to be in place. 3. In fact the Coaching Centre concept itself has to be phased out. Parents must be discouraged from this social evil and selfish tendencies. So like reservations, there must be a time frame for the abolishing of the Coaching Classes. That too all over the Country. more
This is a welcome move of the Central Government so that there is level playing field among the students of various classes. When these coaching centres thrived, it gave the rich the edge in the exams. In fact I would advocate abolition of coaching classes for competitive entrance examinations. more
Private coaching must be curbed to the extent possible. Why have centres of learning which don't teach properly and then have coaching centres? The education system is in a big mess. Education has to cease to be a commercial interest. Till that happens our future generations will face the brunt. There are coaching centres almost everywhere and they are making tonnes of money and are completely unregulated. The Government has a lot to do here starting from rural areas to bigger cities. The entire system of education today is not based on learning, but to award some certificate or the other by passing an exam. The intense competition in some of the competitive examinations has to be pared down as it is unproductive. The current move is a baby step in the right direction. more
Coaching centers mushroom because of the rat race for entering elite institutions like IITs/Medical and management schools. The number of these should grow and placement should also take place at other schools at the same salary offerings. It will increase quality and mad rush. more
Some parents send children to coaching centers to get rid of them for 3-4 hrs. Parents are more at fault than tutors. more
