choose your own berth option at extra 50 Rs . This can be done airlines . Ticket fares should fluctuate as per demand and supply. Cheap tickets for advance booking and costlier towards journey , on fridays and monday and festivals. more

Increasing Charges and making flexible rates would make life of common man miserable. This system is exploitation of needy travellers. Common man (even me a retired sr officer)has to look for cheaper trains. All may not be like Mr Kannan who may be enjoying surplus perks being expert. Kindly think of retired and less privileged also. The only way out is to increase efficiency reduce corruption in each affair of Rly. more
This will only ensure an easy way for railways to make more money without bothering to improve efficiency. I do not agree. Let them work and come up with better ideas. Why should the charges go up? Why cannot we demand that the cost of operation of the railways be brought down? Why cannot we demand that the efficiency of the railways be improved? more
the railways may charge the passenger who is comming for the tatkal ticket with double the charges. the private omni bus operators charging more for example from aluva (kerala) to chennai the charge is 900/- for ordinary bus without ac. if ac coach with semi sleepr fecility the fare is Rs.1200/- to 1600/. if it is sleeper ac bus the rate is more than 1600/-. the rate is higher in festival period.in that place the ordinary ticket is Rs.300/- if reservation you are charging Rs.40 or 50/ extra. you can verify the same with your intelligence department. no complaints from any quarters. simply they pay and go. if government agencies increase 10/p per km. the cry started from all quarters. how government will run the railway with the very low charges but our people wants royal fecilities with this small amount. more
With reference to above sugggestion, I would like to add that "Aadhaar" or other details available with Government should be used to avail regular fare ticket (restricted to 50% of reservation capacity) and the balance should be available with increasing cost when the travel date is nearer; in this case, the TATKAL system can be scrapped, because even under TATKAL system the reservation may not be available.....Also, unrealistic wait listed tickets should be stopped while booking based on the average statistic data available with Railways for that particular route.......... more
