Ciggerate producers stop producing

it is really good to see that Govt has asked that affects of smoking picture should cover 85% of packet now vs 40% today.

Ciggerate producers are playing games and threatining stopping production.

Govt should stay firm and not just this, more awareness should be created about this.

Same things should be done with gutka packing.

Pls share your thoughts more

\ DEAR ANSHU WE INDIANS ARE STILL FAR BEHIND , WE R NOT AWARE WHAT THE GOVT IS DOING WE SHOULD HAVE A WEBSITE WHERE WE CAN SEE THE GOVT BENEFICIAL SCHEMES WHICH ARE LAUNCHED FOR THE MASSES. RGDS KHURSHID 9323924265 more
Yes Govt should stay firm, and as far as revenue is concerned govt can tax more to alcohol and five star hotels. more
I am agreed with Govt. directive but I want to say here my views as under to open an eye of Govt and general public in this regard: In whole tobacco based industries, Govt. always put burden, blame and pressurize cigarettes manufacturers for fighting against cancer and create chaos that cigarette the only product which lead human being to develop cancer decease. While other tobacco based industries like tobacco flakes makers (Pandharpuri and Khaini), scented tobacco makers (Zarda etc.), Gutkha makers are unorganized, small scale or cottage industries and having multi billion-trillion rupees sales compare to cigarettes I think all these products are much more harmful than cigarettes. It is much known to common men of India that maximum numbers of these manufacturers are selling their products without paying or partial paying excise and local taxes. But Govt. can’t control them. Tax evasion by them is very huge with the blessings of leaders and bureaucracy. Their customer base is vast due to easy availability, easy to carry, easy to consume in private or in public. They even make places dirty by littering here and there. On the other hand Central Govt. and State Govt. get highest revenue from Cigarettes and on every direction of WHO and other organizations our Govt. is going to kill milking cow for the benefit of Gutkha mafias and other big wigs. I am not favouring cigarettes industry but off course appealing to Govt to take this type of action first on Gutkha, khaini, pandharpuri and Zarda products packets. Because their sale is more harmful are more than cigarettes. It will be more beneficiary and serve the purpose better. more
It is ridiculous to change the rules often to extreme to kill the industry, this will kill employment & revenue as the industry is the biggest employer & revenue generator. This govt is going to screw industry, extract vested interest & then roll back. If the govt is serious, they could straight away ban production & this industry so that the message is unambiguous & prone to corruption. more
The Govt. should take stand and extend this rule to Gutak & Pan Masala manufacturers also. Let them stop production, it will serve the purpose of humanity without imposing the ban by the Govt.VERY GOOD KEEP IT UP more
