Seems like railways has finally accepted our demand and from next month flexi fares Are going away..

Problem is they are looking at other schemes to increase prices as seat availability reduces. Trains are going empty...

Can we get them to publish load factors. That will highlight full story of how they are poorly managing tax payers money? more

The railway should be given freedom to fix the fares, based on cost benefit analysis. But the fare increase should spread in three to five years, just like the cost of LPG cylinders. more
The only solution to reduce empty trains is Birth /Seats against payment only, No quota ,no reservation without payment, if any is bonafied in any scheme, he/she should get the reimbersement from respective department, it should be applicable even to railway employee. more
Why the Govt is hesitant to privatize the Railways and end the Colonial dominance of cash cow more
Railways can survive much better than Air India. Only problem with railways is that now it has become more of class oriented than public oriented. It puts more energy and resources on Premier trains than Mail / Express trains. It needs to apply its resources where it can generate more revenue. Premier trains have direct competition with budget airlines. A 2nd AC or !st AC fare is equal or more than air fare. Sometime it is more that AC luxury Buses on some routes. So it is better Railways should increase 3AC coaches in Mail / Express trains. Take survey of AC luxury bus fares on busy routes about fare charged by them. Mumbai-Bangluru, Mumbai-Goa etc are some routes which need more trains and there are many such routes all over India. more
Good news but we should allow railways to survive more
