Circle initiative of BIS
I joined this circleon April 29 and have been observing its discussions passively. I feel this is a very forward looking project by BIS which is generally considered a very inaccessible body.
Some great ideas seem to be coming from people and BIS should take up some of them.
I want to highlight the issue of contact lenses. I use Bausch and laumb daily disposable product but this product has no Indian certification other than MRP on the box.
10-12 years back there was a major issue with bosch & laumb lens solution and there was a major recall.
Such a large population in India is now using lenses and solution and there ought to be Indian standards for it and we should ideally make them in India. more

So long as B&L is making quality disposable lenses with advanced technologies as also a responsibility, it is OK & Safe for people. Indian Businessmen who are profit oriented would by compromise leave a huge population of blind or disability...may be Government as also BIS knows this hence they want to play along with B&L only. more

Again do they have enough manpower! Another opportunity to increase employment for managing this important consumer aspect of our life. more
