Bhanu, Traffic snarls are the creation of Rajiv Gandhi and the Govt since the inception of Maruti 800 a cheap car which held a promise of affordability for all. The short term vision which focussed on Populism, lacked the vision of its impact on the following:-1. The Road Infrastructure. 2. Urban Development with reference to Parking spaces, lanes for emergency services.3. Cost of Fuel and Impact on the exchequer 4. Global warming and pollution. The lack of efficient, affordable, clean and dignified public transportation system and the lack of vision in forecasting this requirement was perhaps due to personal interests as well as incompetence of our Planners. Traffic police are unable to do much in the absence of aware and responsible citizens, no matter how many CCTVs etc we place!Additionally they lack the ability to manage such systems!! more

Let this Govt make visible differences starting immediately. The exasperation of the common man due to traffic snarls, poorly marked/unmarked road deviders/turnings and speed breakers which are dangerously unsafe, the lack of lane discipline and focus of the traffic police on catching and exploiting rather than facilitating smooth flow of traffic. why shouldnt the traffic police monitor traffic on CCTVs and reach the trouble spot where jam is happening within 2 minutes? Why should they close the traffic for long time for Mr Modi's movement or any VIP movement? The common man ,citizen pays taxes for facilities and clean habitat which is woefully lacking. If the road becomes obstructed who is accountable to clear it and in what time frame? At the moment there seems no accountability and no sensibility. more
If concern authority will be honest and follow discipline strictly then the subordinates will automatically follow it. more
