Circle report on pollution on Television

The circle report on pollution and plight of Delhiites was playing on TV (attached clip)

I wonder why english newspapers are not actively showing plight of people instead they keep reporting which minister said what.

TOI had an article saying that indias environment minister is saying only 3% pollution is due to stubble and everyone knows is meaningless. Why publish such wrong info unless u want to portray minister in wrong light. Anyways, good health to all in the coming weeks. more

Newspapers have ceased to highlight citizens' woes. I think that already it is best to not stay in Delhi during winter months as the pollution can lead to chronic lung disease and cancers. Things have been in limelight since 2012 , but clearly not enough has been done. We need a people's movement to resolve it. more
I do not agree at all with what is stated. Whether the pollution due to Stubble burning is 3% or less or more, is not important. The important aspect is the whatever pollution does get caused by stubble burning is for a fairly short period, when the stubble has dried and being cleared by farmers for the next crop. But the pollution levels remain high and or a very long period, maybe 3 months or so. No one tries to analyse why this pollution level is so high almost throughout the winter months. Though winter has not yet set in, the pollution already is high. Who is responsible for that? WE ARE RESPONSIBLE. Maybe people would have noticed the speed at which a very large number of people drive their cars. The high speed raises dust, which causes pollution, which does not ebb at all for the whole winter period. Pollution due to this gets added to everyday. It is not the vehicle exhaust that causes pollution, to the extent that people assume. A 2-wheeler raises as much dust as a car, depending on the speed at which it travels. And everyone knows the breakneck speed at which 2-wheelers are driven. LET US UDERSTAND OUR OWN RESPOSIBILITIES. more
Fully agree with the contents. In fact after watching news on TV or reading news paper one gets a feeling that nothing good is happening. There is lack of positive reporting and everyone is looking for punch line to make it sensational . It is wrong to presume that today's audience want this. People are looking for positive news and in search of same keep switching channels. While news paper are much better than TV news there is still lot of scope for improvement. Why can't we have news not linking to politics or religion. Thanks On Sat, 24 Oct 2020, 15:38 Anil Mehta, wrote: > more
