Circle Working Approach

Dear Friends:

Some of the new members have asked this question so wanted to share our circle working approach with all.

Circle Objective:
To collect citizen inputs on priorities and subjects that matter to India and submit them as whitepapers to the PMO and related Ministries for action. Submitted whitepapers are available at: https://www.localcircles.com/a/index/core?thoughtleadership

Measuring Government Action:
I personally submit our circle whitepapers to PMO and Ministries. The best way to evaluate if our collective circle efforts are resulting in progress is to monitor/observe Government action. If the Government takes action, we will appreciate it and if they don't we would hold them accountable too. (The 100 day poll has suggested no or little engagement from MPs to their constituencies)

Vision:
1) Provide actionable whitepapers from collective citizens community to Government.
2) Create circles for every ministry enabling focused discussions and action. Railways and Consumer circles have already been started. More will follow soon.
3) Constituency local circles connecting citizens in the constituency with each other and with their elected MP.

Underlying Theme:
This circle is not a political circle. It is a governance circle and we encourage discussion/action on all subjects, regardless of the difficulty. Together we have done an excellent job by reviewing Electoral Funding, Black Money, Fighting Corruption, Women Safety, Price Rise and many other subjects that actually matter to the common citizen and to India. And, we want to encourage all perspectives including critical opinions.

New Subjects:
It is important to have a structured approach since we are almost 150,000 citizens in a virtual community. But, please feel free to post newer subjects. If there is enough interest from members, we will certainly put it on the list of subjects to be reviewed.

Thanks again for your participation.

Infrastructure problems...The stalled projects in power ,steel continue to haunt us.When Modi govt came to the govt he promised to clear bottlenecks.Revive the power sector.Solve bottlenecks..Solve discoms leverage...Solve gas supply issues...COAL SUPPLY ISSUE.tHE SECTOR REMAINS IN STRESS.....BUT A LOT NEEDS TO BE DONE.... more
I agree that new subjects should be considered. My immediate concern is plans envisaged by our Hon.PM like Digital India faces many constraints in the form of attitude of concerned departmental employees in pursuit of Digital India. There seems to be clear lack of directives to the employees in communication department for example. Employees in the lower rung do not seem to have taken it seriously. To cite a personal example in the recent past that even after applying for a new broadband and land line connection, nothing has happened even after 10days. Same old listing of constraints like lack of man power, inadequate resources etc are cited by people involved in executing the Digital India mission. This apathy on the part of Government employees deserves strong condemnation and requires stringent remedial measures. How to make employees get involved in this mission towards Digital India is a million dollar question! Concerted efforts are required at grass root level of employees to forge ahead. more

Dear Gupta Saheb, I just came across an excellent video on a topic which I suggest you please see and find out. The video comes from a politician from Maharashtra, language is Marathi (with English subtitles), talks about Mumbai etc. *I strongly feel that if we ignore who spoke, for which part of India, which political affiliation, which heroes are talked about as examples, which geography is mentioned and so on, the essence of the message very well applies to India and Indians as a whole. In our group here we all unanimously agree that the message in the presentation must be detached from social, political, geographical and personal contexts and seen and taken up for its guidance value to work towards Swachchh Bharat, proud Bharat, responsible Bharati people, non-corrupt Bharati people and mafia and land-shark free India.* Modi ji being one of the most sensible persons and politicians I have known, who has courage to share platforms/forums with even those who oppose him, will also have the right attitude to treat the message along the lines implied in this video with grace and value. PLEASE BRING IT TO HIS ATTENTION. I AM SURE HE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE USE OF THE MESSAGE REGARDLESS OF ITS ORIGIN AND AFFILIATION. The link for the video is below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SR4zjT5PNio Regards, JP Singh more
