Claim to Fame by Delhi Police
Why is there so much claim to fame going on by Delhi Police in todays' news paper. Its one thing for police to have press conference and say we did great. Media is also reporting they did great. IS that the reality. Not a day goes by when we dont hear of some women raped or child assaulted.

Yes. TOI's standards are falling for everyone to see. They seem to be now spokesperson for BJP highlighting or rather glorifying Police despite adverse public opinion. In fact BJP was not well connected to views of Delhi public and that is why they got only 2 seats in 2014. However I do go along with the report that some measures which were instilled for public confidence are bound to pay off. But to make tall claims through news publication is demeaning the good work. more

Except for the Lutyens Delhi, it is public knowledge that Delhi Police will not do anything unless some tribute is paid to them. I have once been privy to such boasts through a monologue by anInspector having free service at Barber shop where he bragged about the rates for various services. more

Ms Padmini Verma is right to great extent. Self praise is no praise. Only those who had come in contact with the Police in their need for Police assistance can say how good or bad, sincere or honest, arrogant and friendly Delhi Police is. Some independent agency should be able to find very discreetly the perception about the Police in General Public and if that is done only then Police would be able to know the true facts about them. more
