What efforts / effective approach been taken to clean Mumbai railways/ platforms/ in fact the entire Mumbai ? (accept the int't airport - the airport is much better now) more

CLEANLINESS STARTS FROM OUR HOUSE THEN ONLY THIS IS POSSIBLE. I WILL GIVE ONE EXAMPLE I.E. WE APPRECIATE THE CLEANLINESS IN OTHER COUNTRIES BUT THE MOMENT WE LAND AT OUR AIRPORT WE START CLUTTERING OR YOU CAN CALL DIRTYING THE PLACE.WHY? more

Yes, Food stalls are not needed. Its req for outstation line and not on suburban line. I do understand they do hefty business which equals to the need of people, but if it is not on station , people will finish their req outside and then come on station. Lets remove them , on suburban station it is not req. more

Mumbai is a place where millions of people come and leave the platforms on various stations and because of eatables and food stalls on platforms we notice lots of plastics, lot of wasted food, stinking food, rodents, lot of water spilled at many places and station gets dirty looks. I had suggested in many forums to remove all eateries from platforms so that 90% cleanliness will be achieved. No station in Europe and China have eatries stall on platforms but out side the station. Our platforms are now a days shopping lanes with availability of variety of foods including non veg, belts, chains, locks, news papers, books, cold drinks etc. All this has to stop with immediate effect. Let people get whatever they want from outside and not on platform. This will help to keep the stations clean in Mumbai. more
