Cleaning Villages under Swachh Bharat

Dear all:

Here is a summary of your inputs on How Swachh Bharat can be taken to villages.

Kindly review and give other inputs based on your experiences/observations.

Parallel cleanliness initiatives in both Urban and Rural India are important to maintain and build the Swachh Bharat momentum and engage as many Indians!

Swachh Bharat Mission
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Taking Swachh Bharat to Indian Villages

1. Awareness campaigns on cleanliness should be organised in villages
2. The Sarpanch should be made responsible for enforcing cleanliness in his village
3. People could team up with NGOs to train the villagers on waste disposal
4. People could make teams to visit the nearby villages on weekends for cleaning activities and encourage the villagers to do it too
5. Items like gloves, dustbins etc. could be donated to villages
6. Competition for the ‘cleanest village’ could be organized amongst a cluster of villages to encourage people to keep their surroundings clean
7. NGOs like Sulabh could be partnered with to open public toilets in villages
8. People could volunteer to go to village schools to give cleanliness lessons to children
9. MPs/MLAs, Business houses and famous personalities could adopt villages and lead a sustained cleanliness initiative there. more

In villages the major challenge is toilet. because people there normally keep clean their surrounding. Toilet is the only issue, even after so many adds and initiatives by media and NGOs still no significant implementation is done to cop up this problem. Gov. and administrative authorities have to make sure the implementation by physically witnessing it and sharing to rest of the country. If good job is done then why not to share it to the people of India just like scam and other negative activities comes in light and retain for a long time in focus than why not this good work. " IS THERE ANY DOUBT ON IMPLEMENTATION OR FURTHER ANY SCAM IS WAITING TO EVOLVE"???? more
Very good list of moves, Just ensure to implement this more
Our villages have plenty of leaders/ politicians to lead the people. The B.D.O. should be asked to take the challenge. Even though the villages may not be having concrete roads but they are cleaner than city slums.Whatever the waste falls on the street gets eliminated through the natural process. The villagers need to be encouraged for building toilets and told about its benefit. The villagers don't want toilets in the house because of they think it will be unhygienic, extra water requirement, lack of corner place etc etc.Things are changing ,Let the panchayat take the lead by constructing one in their premises, and in the school.so that others get motivated more
rubbers of shoes can be recycled and rexin is also recycled .Try to find one such factory which is nearby more
