Cleanliness in train and promptness of staff

I was travelling in a train. There was some littering by few fellow passengers. I complained of cleanliness on a number through SMS. To everyone surprise, within 5 minute staff came and cleanliness started.
SMS contact number promptly displayed in every bogey...it is up to passengers to make use of it. Response is very prompt.
And we as passengers should also try our best not to litter in the train. more

Make a tariff card for the food supplied through pantry car attached with each train be made available through vendors more
I had a similiar experience travelling first class from Jodhpur to Mumbai In december 14. I wish I got a full refund from Railways for horrible food, the toilets were so bad in First class , the basin tap was not working, and flush was not there??? I posted a review on this circle then. I fully agree with Yasmine of how Indian Railways made her Journey awful... and she paid so much for the travel.. AND NO ONE IN RAILWAYS TO CARE... more
I must also add here that I have been travelling with my parents in old First Class (1944 - to almost the late 50s) we always found the compartments clean even the II class and the Inter Class was spic and span. If the train came late or early the guard of the train was answerable to the the administration. Today there is no accountablity. Who is asking who - the citizen suffer in silence. more
Last year my husband and I were travelling on KK Express from Ahmednagar to New Delhi by AC First Class. I am sorry to say that there were no cleaners available. The wash rooms were in a mess. Though a dustbin is kept in the compartment things were strewn all over the place and dustbins were full and no one to empty out the garbage. The compartment was dirty and linen filthy. When we asked for the attendant/cleaner there was none - they said that no contract had been given so no one to attend. The toilets were dirty and no toilet paper. Whenever the train stopped people from the station just walked in to use the toilets. The food on the train is inedible and so is the tea - tea tasted like gutter water. The same thing happened when we returned by the KK Express again AC First Class. It is a pathetic situation and people who pay thru their nose for travelling in comfort have to face such problems. AC First class is suppose to be like an airline travel spic and span. The food handlers are shabbily dress and dirty. At least maintain some standard for the money you are taking from the citizens. more
