It is important to fix responsibility at various levels. If any failure is observed during inspection, stringent action taken for the person responsible. more
Additional input-- I happened to move in British railways. Why is cleanliness there? Whole train including glasses were very clean. Some places glasses were clean to such an extent that we wonder if glass at all existed. Cleaning can remain if we have it. In uk, we can meet people from several countries but discipline is of uk is followed by all. This need to be breaded in our people. If Mumbai airport can be clean, if Shegaon can be clean, if Madurai station can be clean, if our houses from inside and outside can be kept clean why not all railway platforms. If Modi Government is remembered it will be for bringing an awareness of cleanliness in addition to other important works. We say 'habits die hard', then why to blame populace of India. Bringing awareness is a great step in right direction. Forget about inspection. It is working, first by denying by politics, and then internally appreciating. We are moving in right direction. Constant reminders and pleads through media support will make impossible look possible. Let it take gestation time. Be positive and make passengers understand positive without any politics. The cleaning of Compartment,Toilets for every three stations. Watering wash basin & Toilets for every Five stations. SMS by Alerts from Passengers for cleaning should allowed. more
I would also like to bring to the railway's attention to the approach road to Thivim (Goa) station. This 300 meters of road was finally tarred this year but with one monsoon it has already got pot holes. One more monsoon and it will be back to its previous conditions waiting for the next contract to repair it so the ministers and officials can get their 'cut'. Thivim is the gateway to Goa for passengers heading to the beaches. Imagine the first impression that will be made on the tourist. more
In the past one month I traveled three times by Konkan railway on the section between Vadodara and Thivim, but found the toilets in bad shape. The bio-toilets were not cleared out frequently enough. Some flushes were not working. Taps were broken. more
