Cleanliness of cities and roads

Dear Sir
For cleanliness in cities and roads in India, we should observe 2 bins disposal system.
All degradable should be disposed in Green Bin and Recyclable in the Yellow/ Red bin. The practice should be started in all municipalities/Town areas and all cities big or small.
This will reduce the quantum of garbage as recyclable portion is almost half shall be a raw material for some industry.
Strict action/ penalty for littering roads, market and public places and open spaces/ Parks etc. should be enforced. more

Sire, With massive urbanisation in India, especially in the last quarter century, we have not gone up to the issues of seperating the 2-3 different kinds of Bins (one is for the electrical/computer /bulbs/ plastic related garbage). All Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) ought to have been put on to these methods and principles. We go through Ministerial & Municipal functions /ceremonies, BUT when did we ever go through training the staff and then onward thru' the RWAs and community levels to set up seperation of kitchen level + other garbage, while the same gets dumped in low lying areas of the towns, cities and Metropolitan areas. Period. Rules and civic related laws must be evolved, applied and get the same implemented. Plus have the same SUPERVISED -- because our "thekedars" hand in glove with the junior level officers, play games to make a quick buck. This happens all over urban India, to the detriment of those who will follow us! That is how lazy, scheming, destructive we urban wallahs have been -- over decades. That also is the position in Gurgaon where my family and i live. more
To bring in accountability among the residents ,it should be mandatory for the colony/village /settlement to have a residents welfare association which should be answerable to the authorities. It is seen that many residential colonies donot have associations. more
Do you know any private agencies who can help implement this practice in our housing society with 850 flats i sector 52 gurgaon !! more
