Clueless parliamentarians of India

Successful countries talk about their present. Struggling countries keep talking about their past.

China talks about its dominance in the EV industry. China talks about trains that run at 350 km/h. China talks about building more mega cities. China talks about software developed at home. China talks about how it reduced pollution in industrial towns.

India is still debating whether Nehru would have been a better PM or Sardar Patel. Whether Veer Savarkar was a hero or not? Whether Congress insulted Ambedkar or was it the BJP. India keeps going on and on about how great our civilization was 5000 years back.

The window is short, and millions of Indians are aspiring for a better life. It cannot be delivered by living in the past. The discussions in parliament are completely divorced from the real problems that people have in their lives.

Pollution is killing. Urban-infra is crumbling. Inflation is painful. Jobs are scarce. National security issues aplenty. None of these problems are going to be solved by living in the past. Parliamentarians needs to wake up, and smell the coffee. more

We talk too much about past and little about future. more
So vande Bharath, Tejas MRC aircraft, Vajra tanks are nothing. Very skewed view of the parliament. more
To the common man aspiring for a better life, they are nothing. Why? Because they don't improve his standards of living. more
Correct. PM talking about Emergency in the past but is clueless about the pollution emergency in the present. more
Well said, why don't we create a performance passport Half yearly for all Ministers, depending on their promise parameters being elected, which will publicly appraise for their given jobs for a particular City, town or area. more
Ruchika has brought out a valid point. Though the parliamentarians include the MPs of the ruling parties of NDA Government the progress the Government bringing to the country is being blocked by the retarding forces in the opposition party which is headed by the clown Rahul Gandhi. In a democratic country parties of the ruling and in the opposition should think about the country's progress not that of their party or self. The suggestion given by Mohit Pande is relevant if the qualitative requirements of the politician is revised suitably. That has to be studied and done before 2029 and brought into action. China is politically a different country and people are kept under control through the communist principles. If compared with Japan it is acceptable because the people think about the Nation. In our country people are not yet mature enough to think about the country which is being used to their advantage by the politicians who have no scruples. Let us make an effort to make them understand about the importance of the country to be together. Lt Col G Visweswaran JAI HIND more
Apt reply. Well said. more
