Clueless Urban Ministry officials cutting 14000 trees

They arr saying Only 14K? Why must New and South Delhi be infested with more Babus at the cost of tens of thousands of trees when apartments lie vacant in NCR? Moreover, all double storeyed govt flats are supposed to be converted to high rise. So why this clamour for grabbing more Delhi Forest land? #savetrees more

The solution lies in due-diligence in the design. Even if there is a need to re/construct, why can't there be enough due-dilligence at the design stage. Unfortunately, we know why. It is usually a mix of vested interests, incompetent competent authorities and political interference. more
House alloting departments should locate vacant houses work out an easy hiring system. Save some trees. more
This scheme is a classic example of Bankruptcy of the Bureaucracy in coming up with sensible ideas in the interest of the City / Nation rising above their mean and petty self interest of securing a POSH address for themselves. Even if it means depriving the population of air to breath. They are the same set of bureaucrats who at some point had devised an IDEA of NCR ( National Capital Region to DE-CONGEST the Capital City of Delhi by adding areas from adjoining states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana and creating a National Capital Territory of Delhi or the National Capital Region . But Alas !! the idea has been thrown to winds by not only constructing huge Government Office Buildings but also huge residential complexes being raised at plum locations to keep themselves firmly entrenched these POSH locations to keep themselves at a stone's throw distances from place of work, while a common men an d businesses are expected to shift to Greater Noida / Ghaziabad / Meerut / Gurugram / Manesar etc etc. A Petition should be filed in the Supreme Court of India against any new Government building (Office or Residential) being constructed in the Municipal Limits of Delhi. After all hundreds of crores of Rupees have been spent of the Tax Payers money to develop the NCR by the Central Government itself. The Political Parties should not be allowed to destroy the projects developed by their predecessor governments of their political opponents just to satisfy their egos and demolish the legacy of their opponents. The current move should be OPPOSED TOOTH N NAIL BY EACH DELHITE NOT ONLY TO STOP TREE FELLING BUT THE PROJECT OF CONSTRUCTION ITSELF SHOULD BE CHALLENGED AND STOPPED. ________________________________ From: Parvati Sharma Sent: Sunday, June 24, 2018 1:51 PM To: vikasmehra@hotmail.com Subject: "Clueless Urban Ministry o..." more
This is called Using Your Head (and Not Brain) when making a Plan!!! more
I am surprised that the National Green Tribunal has not said anything. When Shri Shri Ravishankar ji came here, there was such a hue and cry. But blatant cutting of trees should be made illegal. more
