Cockroaches in Taj Hotels

When we go to 5 star hotels we expect atleast clean and hygenic food. I have been to two events at Taj Hotel in Hyderabad and In Mumbai where I have seen cockroaches.

If fssai has x requirement for restaurants the bar for 5 star hotel restaurants should be 3 times higher.

Will members pls share this their experiences?? And what should be remedy. more

Yes it happens many times. They just replace food with new one. Third party inspection required in all 5 star hotels. more
It is expected that anti-termite treatments should be there at regular interval. But it is difficult to eradicate cockroaches, who take shelter in the exit pipes and it is difficult to remove them from that place. Drugs control department should work on that. more
Unfortunately the pest control works are taken care by Facility Managers, who engage non professionals resulting in seeing all pests including lizards, birds etc. India is well known for abrogating legal needs. Further, absence of law enforcement in the country leads to such sightings. more
yOU ARE LUCKY TO HAVE SEEN NO RATS AND LIZARDS AND THE BEST PART IS EVEN AFTER YOU CONTACT THE ceo Puneet there will no revert form him.A real shame to see the level TAJ has stooped down more
It is really good you participate in the dialogue to keep the standards high . It will also be good to let the readers know which hotel and which location Cockroach was spotted . A picture would have been sufficient to substantiate your claim . As far as I know about the Taj chains , I have been going for Dinners & Banquettes in Mumbai as early as 1972 . It was the days we didn't have many Star Hotels to boast of . It continues now for the past 20 years with my tour groups . I have never seen any so far , nor my guests who will scream if they see. I wouldn't like to discourage you from registering your complaining , but something to substantiate as many others do . more
