My network connectivity problems with my Airtel 4G hotspot no: xxxxx24016 started in Aug 2016. Despite numerous complaints to their customer care and emails to 121@in.airel.com and 121@in.airel.com and appellate they could not resolve the issue. I was informed there was a serious issue with network connectivity and the network connectivity team were working on towers in the area but could not guarantee when this would be resolved. With NO service provided Airtel continued to send me bills. I then called customer service for a waiver ... No response. In exasperation I called them to ask them to discontinue services. I was informed this was not possible till I cleared my dues. I do not see how I am liable for payment when no service has been provided.
On the 22nd of Feb Airtel deactivated my outbound calls on my other official no xxxxxxx446 on the eve of my outstation official trip to Goa . This was grossly unfair as there has never been any default or delayed payment on this number. I visited their Lajpat Nagar Delhi store and the manager got my phone reactivated. The next day after landing my services were completely deactivated which was a great inconvenience on my official trip. On my return to Delhi I again called and wrote to Appellate. No redressal. They wrote back saying they tried calling me on xxxxx24016, which was a Hotspot internet no. Hilarious !!! Visited the Lajpat Nagar store again. No use. This time their manager Mr Raghav was most uncooperative. Told me there was record of my emails for lack of network but none for disconnecting the number. I informed him I had said that on phone to the collection team. I asked for compromise. No use. He told me to contact Appellate team. Number given for appellate team asked me to call back 121 or 198...So I am back to square one. I'd like to retain my old number but not at the cost of this harrassment. Could someone suggest what my next steps should be ? more
