common sense which is uncommon
We voted for AAP in Delhi, at least those admins who are from Delhi did. AAP formed the government too.
Next round was to vote for the BJP at the centre. But something happened.
We saw animosity between AAP and BJP supporters. Animosity of the worst kind.
Naturally someone like me, a neutral unbiased observer, found it all cheap and appalling.
I saw social media get divided into groups.
The most vocal group comprises of the strong supporters of BJP to the extent of behaving like a fanatic. These people resort to name calling and name distortion.
Kejriwal is called Khujliwal.
Kumar Vishwas is called Kumar Bakwas or badhawas.
Shazia Ilmi is called Chilmi (whatever that means)
Social activists like Medha Patkar are mocked.
AAP supporters are called AAPtards.
Fake documents and accusations are floated on social media.
A suggestion that the army presence in civilian areas in Kashmir should be done after a referendum is wrongly presented as a referendum to separate the state of Kashmir.
Secular people like myself are called sickulars.
National award winning filmmakers are called C class just because they oppose Modi.
Physical attacks on AAP leaders are applauded. AAP leaders and followers are called Pakistanis.
Narendra Modi asks for votes for himself in all BJP ads, even though people vote for MPs. If tomorrow an MP is involved in corruption or any other crime will Modi be willing to take the blame and go to jail on that MPs behalf? Why is this stupidity not noticed?
BJP pays loads and loads of money for their ads, and gives no explanation for such expenses. Who pays all the money?
The list of my grievances with both the BJP and BJP followers is endless.
Should I vote for someone because there is no better option at the national level? Even if that means voting for a bad MP? What role will such a bad MP play in parliament? How will he be better than someone like Rahul Gandhi who is an MP only because of the Gandhi name? Are we trying to create more Rahuls by using Modi's name?
My faith in the BJP is slowly starting to buckle under the pressure of reality.
