Dear sirs from the Dept. of Cosumer Affairs , My first and only doubt is, the Collection of exact M.R.P. by the traders from customers is it for all traders . Are the state controlled sale and retail activity exempted from giving Bills and collecting exact amount from the customers ? As you know the retail trade of liquor is done by TASMAC [Tamilnadu state marketing corporation]. All the bottles of liquor has a clear M.R.P. The practice is * No bill raised * Collect more than the M.R.P. for every bottle 1/4 [Rs.2 extra],1/2 [Rs. 5 ], full [Rs. 10 extra ]and for beer [Rs. 10 extra ]. Is this practice adopted by the Government outlet permitted ? If so where does this unaccounted money go ? No customer can fight this as it it looks to be a well oiled Mafia. CAN THE DEPARTMENT DO ANYTHING SO THAT THE HUGE MONEY GENERATED ON A BUSINESS OF Rs. 30,000 CRORES CAN BE STRAIGHT AWAY STOPPED FROM BECOMING BLACK MONEY . FURTHER THIS WOULD BE AN IDEAL ROLE MODEL FOR PRIVATE DEALERS ON OTHER TRADES. more

The enclosed letter of the Metrology Department is little bit confusing. While any increase in the existing MRPs on account of increase in taxes is not allowed, where is the question of any change in the prices and indicating the new prices? It appears, the revised prices need to be shown on the packages only in the cases of reduced taxes, in which cases the MRPs have also to be reduced! The letter should have clarifications as to how to prepare the bills for the pre-GST products containing MRPs inclusive of all taxes till the proposed corrections are carried out, as the traders are duping the consumers by charging applicable GST in addition to the existing MRPs. more

What I understand from the advisory is that increase or decrease in the MRP due to incidence of GST need to be reflected in unsold stocks with a separate sticker by the company.And that will be the revised MRP inclusive of GST. such instances should be notified to controllers of legal metrology of the State. This is till 30th September 2017. more

Kindly clarify whether MCD will continue to levy entry tax on OLA & Uber cabs while travelling from NOIDA to Delhi after implementation of GST. Similarly will UP Govt continue to charge entry tax while I travel by OLA or UBER cab from Delhi to NOIDA? more
