Compensation for train cancellation

When a passenger cancels his/her ticket, the passenger is charged cancellation charges.
When a train is cancelled, the passenger are returned the ticket fare.
I suggest Railway should also pay cancellation charges to passenger also.
I would like to seek feed back from other members on this issue !! more

Who so ever has problem in getting refund must post their grievances, so that Railway official can take note of this issue. more  
Refund is a problem in all govt departments more  
I booked a seat to travel from Ldh to New Delhi which was cancelled at the last moment. I panicked bec I had to take a flight and was confused but finally manage to book a taxi. Reached the airport on time and took the flight .I checked for the refund but didn't find any and when I complain came to know that .. According to new rule " The Ticket should be cancelled online or TDR can be filed upto 72 hrs after the scheduled departure of train" .... the onus of cancelling the ticket is passenger's...why? At that time who remember to cancel the ticket. It should have been refunded automatically since the train was cancelled by the railways ... more  
In case of train cancellation, the full refund should be made available immediately. For e-tickets, it should be credited automatically without waiting for lodging a claim. more
