Confusion in Suburban time table revision in Chennai Division - Reg.
Suburban timing change in the new time table WEF 01.10.2015 is published in Southern Railway website.
As per the revised timetable, Train No.43212 departure time from Tiruvallur is changed as 07.55HRS. The existing departure time is 07.45HRS.
Already Train No.66022 (Tirpathi to Chennai Central MEMU) is crossing Tiruvallur at 07.55HRS. How it is possible to operate Train No.43212 Tiruvalur to Chennai Central in the same time and in the same path. So, Train No.43212 may be retained as 07.45HRS. The other problems due to this change are as follows.
During morning time Train No.43212 is leaving from Platform No.5. Before the departure of 43212, rake for 43214 is received in Platform No.6. This train will leave TRL at 08.10HRS. Rake for Tiruninravur to Chennai Central local (Opeated as EMPTY RAKE from Tiruvallur to Tiruninravur) will be received in Platform No.4. This train will leave TRL at around 08.00HRS.
So, Platform No.4,5 and 6 are occupied by 3 rakes for around 15 minutes. In the mean time Train No. 43405 (Chennai to Arakkonam) has to arrive Tiruvallur at 07.50HRS. Due to non availability of platform at Tiruvallur, 43405 will be unnecessarily detained at Tiruvallur home signal for about 10 minutes on permanent basis.
There is bunching of train departure from Tiruvallur due to this change. At 07.50HRS train No.43410Fast will cross Tiruvallur. At 07.55HRS TRL-MAS local and TPTY-MAS MEMU will be leaving Tiruvallur. At 08.00HRS Empty rake for Tiruninravur to Chennai Central will leave Tiruvallur. At 08.10HRS Train No. 43214 TRL-MAS local is leaving Tiruvallur.
From Tiruvallur train No.43210 is leaving at 07.15HRS. Even before the departure of this train, rake for train no. 43212 is received in Platform No.5 at 07.15HRS. Now this rake is idled upto 07.55HRS (More than half an hour). Idling a rake rake for more than 30 minutes at station is simply waste. Now there is big gap between 07.15HRS and 07.55HRS at Tiruvallur. In the mean time, Train No.43504 (Tiruttani - Chennai Central local), 43932 (Ladies special) 43410 (Arakkonam - Chennai fast local) are crossing Tiruvallur. These trains are coming from Arkkonam and over crowded at the time of reacing Tiruvallur and many passenger are changing over for Tiruvallur to Chennai Central local to travel comfortably. So, Tiruvallur passengers from Tiruvallur are practically not using the trains which are coming from Arakkonam. So, Train No.43212 is over loaded at Tiruvallur. Now the timing is delayed by 10 minutes. So, become full at Tiruvallur itself and intermediate station passengers are forced to travel in standing condition in this train.
Similarly, Train No. 43249 departure from Chennai Central is changed from 20.05HRS to 20.20HRS. Now 20.15 (Train No.43517) MAS-TRT local is leaving MAS. This train will carry all passengers (Ambattur, Avadi, Tiruvallur, Arakkonam, Tirutthani) and over crowded. Train No. 43249 will just follow without crowd. It is better to operate a Tiruvallur local first and then Tirutthani local for uniform distribution of crowd. Train No.43249 is to be changed in such a way that it should leave before Tirutthani local (43517).
After the timing revision, there is 30 minutes gap between two train in evening peak hours. At 19.45 HRS Arakkonam slow local leaving and next slow local is at 20.15 HRS Tiruttani slow local. So this train will be over crowded at Central it self. (At 20.00 HRS Arakkonam fast local is starting from Chennai Central. Since, this train is having limited halt, intermediate station passengers can not use this fast local) When Tiruttani local is stopping for additional time at all intermediate stations for allowing crowd to board/alight at staton, this train will get delayed naturally and the other train following this Tiruttani local (Tiruvallur local 20.20HRS and Siding local 20.25 HRS) will also become delayed.
Please avoid confusion and change the timings accordingly for smooth movement of trains as well as convenience of passengers. more
