This initiative is most welcome. Over the past two years the whole-sale price index is only 4 to 5% approx. whereas in retail there is no limit for price increase. I do not think any state govt. authority is bothered about this matter. Taking Bangalore, for instance, prices of provisions like rice, etc. are 50% to 150% higher compared with say, Hyderabad or even Mumbai. In Hyderabad there are markets constructed by the government to enable growers to come to the city and sell their produces thus avoiding middlemen. In Bangalore there is no such arrangement. It is the middlemen who make huge profits thereby increasing the cost of living in the city. The Karnataka state government is impervious to any such new idea. more
Congrats ! Great initiative ! Just hope it is implemented in the spirit it has been launched ! more
In majority of places in Indian roadside venders are mushrooming every where especially in major cites. They are selling items but they don't have Govt approved weighting balances .I feel that they selling the product underweight nobody questing them. more
The ministry should be more proactive in following the consumer concerns n addressing the same. Making the law and establishing a set of courts is not just enough. Unless every grievance, what ever the value of the case be, is addressed very quickly, in a matter of months, the purpose is not served. People in millions are being cheated for smaller sums. No one would want to spend years to fight a case for a few hundred or even a few thousand rupees. This itself is an encouragement to the cheating class. The ministry should put their resources in making the system more efficient in this area. I hope the ministry is willing to do this. ... Subramanya more
Grievance redressal system provided by Company is working only for the Company so most of them do not treat any complaint in a fair manner. Generally mails sent at email IDs given in website are bouncing back & are not registered at all. more
