Conserving & Harvesting Rainwater alng highways
NHAI should plan the rainwater harvesting. Few thoughts
1. NHAI has lakhsof kilometers of State and National highways . Each road as a rain water drain
2. NHAI should plan to dig pits for every 100 meters on urgent basis
3. it will not only help ground water levels but also help to avoid flooding
4. the new projects should have this mandatory requirement.
5. This will also recharge the dead bore wells
this is quite a cost effective method. Rainy season is around the corner. It is the best time, if not too late... more

My worry is breeding of mosquitoes in standing water and increase in vector borne diseases like malaria,dengue,chickgunia otherwise idea is good. more

Originally , every Road had side-by Canals on both the Sides purposing water flow to keep the Road safe too while meet the purpose in multiple ways . more
