Consider this change Railway authority
Sometimes, passengers travel together under one PNR, out of which due to unavoidable reason one may be dropped. In that event, it should be allowed to interchange the birth/seat officially on line. This may be allowed in the case of the senior citizen/s, it has experienced that the system allotted out of three/four passengers, one in the lower birth and other three are on the upper/side upper birth. In case the lower birth allotted to the passenger cancelled his journey, in that event, said birth may be allowed amongst the other three on line, so that, cancel passenger can cancelled his ticket on line.

It should have already been incorporated in the software. If not, it should be done, it is no big deal. more

This looks like simple but it is difficult to implement due to algorithm used in booking programme. more

Yes this should be doable. When cancelling partial ticket option can be given to select which reserved berths to retain and adjusted accordingly more
