1. In most cities, there is no permanent site for C&D waste collection

4. This turns into a garbage dump in a few days
5. Open canals are choked with C&D waste material dumped in
6. C&D waste blocks roads and pathways making commuting difficult.
7. Waste material is not cleared for days causing problems for neighbours
8. These materials are carried in open vehicles which drops debris on the way
9. This waste leads to collection of water during rains
10. Municipality does not pay much attention to this issue even after complaints more

These waste materials has more usefulness. But nobody can care about it. Some time it is highly useful for land filling in the waste area. In this respect some times it may affect the water ways. The sea erosion may also avoided by dumping the waste in the sea area more
a law that during every new construction the materials used will have some percentage of the construction waste . more
Construction and demolition material has always has useful utilisation 1. reuse in construction 2. as afiller material for various application .For every circle a depository could be organised where these materail can be stored and reused as per requirement, afee may be collected from depositor as well as reuser ,in fact some employment can be generated out of this work. more
construction & demolition material is itself devided in to two parts.... A. Demolitian material is mostly can be used for recycling purpose i.e. steel can be recycled, usually it is recycled through the scrap dealers, other concrete material can be used as a raw material for the cement based products. (Developer/owner are free to sell it to the Scrap dealers who must be impanelled) B. Construction material is mostly the wastage or mixed material which can be used as the filling material for buildings or low lying lands... The handling of the material should be done in a proper way...like 1. Contractors should be appointed, impanelled & Lisence should be issued to the contractors for handling the material. 2. Owners should contact the contractor... 3. Charges to be framed by the Municipal Carporations or Municipalties...on per Cubic meter basis.. 4. 90 % of the payment shall be bourned by the Developer/owner...rest 10 % shall be bourned by the Authority...(on chaque payment by the Developer/owners) 5. Contractor/ Handler shall dump the material under the instructions of the local Municipal Engineer... 6. Transporter / Handler are free to sell the Material in the Private market...( no payment shall be made by the municipal authority if the material is sold in the market.. & many more things to frame.....just given the broad concept /idea to deal with the C & D waste... more
Construction and demolition is a phenomena that is quiet natural in every nation, except for the manner it is conducted differs. We need to provide for stringent laws in disposing off wastes and final sanction of approval for building should be accorded only after the requisite cleaning of the area. more
