Construction Standards
Last year or in 2020 i had raised the need for mandatory construction standards for apartment/group housing societies. Someone from BIS said not possible in this circle with lame reasons.
Attached js Arun Shrivastava, MD, Central Warehousing Corporation, rescued 16 hours after the multiple flats slab collapse at Chintels Paradiso, Sector 109 in Gurugram. Two women died in the incident.
If there were standards and audits such incidents wont happen.
We rely on local municipal body to do some review without any standards. The only thing they know is how to make a buck from the builder.
We suffer while administrators do their 9-5 duty. more

Social leaders have a definition, either work for the society or a so called structure of humanity, work with ideas for betterment. They carry the good systems and development plans forward. There are times in last some years about jobs,money ,investmets etc. By now these people could be clear that money is Lakshmi,it slips. more

You can not expect honesty and Loyalty from people who do not feel for the country people - these are anti-socials in disguise - but, difficult to identify them unless their bad work creates havoc. The system needs change - we have to elect only honest people and should have power to bring down an elected person if found not working for people. more

Living on FF,surrounded by illegal toilets on GF,Barsati Floor,plus tons of illegal structures on floor above and below my FF..past 30 years in building having 2-1/2 floors only pn 208 yards small plot and innumerable complaints to authorities-Police/MCD/Fire Safety, PNG pipe on border of building is passing along Foam and wood of illegal rooms. Raw areas of illegal structures had to be cemented and plants are getting the benefits from illegal toilets.. We have had enough during past 30 years of (mis) governance in Delhi & people are getting fearless.We Deserve a Better Delhi. more

Yes,to each one.In the Federal system of USA the states had their own Building codes. When the WTC bombing happened all states started fallowing only national code( They suspended their Building laws) As important member of IEI and ACCE (I),I had discussed last month about the NBC,codes.With all our member Eminent Engineers in the conference. Given the climate change, and COVID 19,the state laws needs to be suspended. We should have space between small 200 Sq yard site,building also,to avoid spread of covid. Spread of fire. Keeping in view the possibility of flooding etc,in these days of Disaster happening. Regards to each one. Let us insist even in apartments, common floor,building directions etc,to have light. more

yes unless all the people are brought to book who were involved right from sanctioning the plan etc should be immediately arrested.Who isprotecting them . more
