Consumer Affairs or Profiteering under GST

Many stores and websites are levying gst on a discounted price, let alone passing any input tax credits or lowering MRPs. So a Consumer buys some beauty products.

1) instead of full discount - partial discount as gst levied on discounted price

2) no input tax credit given

3) selling old stock at old published mrp (when gst was 28%)

Who should take action - Consumer Dept or Profiteering dept.

Please advise. more

The purchases made by consumers under GST should be made available to consumers on GST website. This is absolutely necessary to check whether GST paid by consumers is deposited in Government account and also to verify whether correct GST is charged to the consumer, or else the businessmen may issue one bill to the consumer and manipulate the same while filing returns. more
